Like lots of other makers, Mag Instrument has expanded its line of flashlights to incorporate models featuring LED-type bulbs.
Why? LEDs are virtually shatterproof, and they're much better than ordinary bulbs. As the product name counsels, this Maglite runs on three D-type batteries, that will take a bit to run out thanks not only to the LEDs but also to Mag Instrument's "Intelligent power source Management," which balances high lightness against extended battery life-span.
The bright, dynamic beam adjusts from spot to flood simply by revolving the head. The case is made of a high-strength aluminum amalgamate which has been anodized inside and outside, which gives you water- and shock-resistance in a light package. Top quality O-rings at both openings keep water away from the batteries. To paraphrase, this energy-efficient flashlight is nearly indestructible--a high quality when it comes to the tools. Limited lifetime guaranty. Batteries not included.
